Bird-Watchers (2022) is an installation composed of thirty-six inkjet prints on tarpaulin, with black on the reverse side. A sort of "layered stack of images" in decreasing sizes, ranging from 100 x 150 cm to 24 x 16 cm, this installation only reveals the edges of a collection of representations of the Mont Blanc Massif. Overlooking the installation is an image collected from the social network Instagram using the #montblanc, selected as a nod to Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog by Friedrich. The representations come from the archives of the Maison Forte de Hautetour as well as the Payot collection and the Amis du Vieux Chamonix.

Bird-Watchers thus presents a comprehensive array of mountain iconography, shaped first by painters, then by excursionist photographers, and eventually by advertisers and other current promotional actors. Through this installation, the visual history of the landscape emerges in layers, shaped by the imaginations and representational techniques of each era. The installation can be activated through a performance by the artist.

Bird-Watchers (2022) est une installation composée de trente-six impressions jet d’encre sur bâche, au verso noir. Sorte de « mille feuille d’images » aux tailles décroissantes, de 100 x 150 cm à 24 x 16 cm, cette installation ne laisse entrevoir que les bordures de cette collection des représentations du Massif du Mont Blanc. Surplombée par une image collectée sur le réseau social Instagram avec le #montblanc, image sélectionnée en clin d’oeil au Voyageur contemplant une mer de nuages de Friedrich, les représentations proviennent des archives de la Maison Forte de Hautetour mais également de la collection Payot et des Amis du Vieux Chamonix. C’est donc un véritable panel de l’iconographie de montagne, forgé par les peintres, puis les photographes excursionnistes jusqu’aux publicitaires et autres acteurs promotionnels actuels, que l’installation Bird-watchers nous donne ici à voir. Apparaissent ainsi les strates d’une histoire visuelle du paysage, modelée par les imaginaires et les techniques de représentation de chaque époque. Cette installation est activable par le biais d’une performance de l’artiste.
